Bayelsa NUJ inaugurates 7 working committees to revive Council status | Tropic Reporters News

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Bayelsa state council, Comrade Samuel Numonengi, has inaugurated seven working committees with a view to revive and reposition the current status of the council.

The inauguration came few days after the State Working committee of the State council approve the constitution of the various committees.

Addressing the various Chairmen, Secretaries and members of the committees, in his office at the Ernest Sei-sei Ikoli Press centre, Numonengi urged them to work collectively as a family for the benefit of the union, adding that the re-branding of the current state of the council needs the contribution of all practicing journalist in the state.

He also promised to work assiduously for the interest and welfare of the union, noting that his administration will run an open door policy.

The newly elected Chairman, assured all members of his commitment to reorganize and give a face lift to the secretariat, advising that elections are over, the time to bring all aggrieved members to work together for the common good of all was now.

Responding on behalf of the members, Chairman of reconciliation, Mr. Preye Wariowei, commended the chairman for the privilege to serve the union, adding that he will work with his team to achieving positive results.

He noted that he didn’t know there were conflicting issues after the last elections, but now that he has known he will work to see that issues are addressed.

The committees include: Reconciliation, Welfare, Sports, Ethics and Disciplinary, Training Committee, IIJ Review Committee, Education and Library Committee.
