Ajayi Oduyi Gets Staff Of Office As Alapaka Of Kiribo

The Ondo State Government on Tuesday presented staff of office to the Alapaka 1 of Kiribo Kingdom in Ese-Odo Local
Government, His Royal Highness, Oba Ajayi Oduyi.

The presentation was done at the Methodist Primary School
playing field, Kiribo.

The stool of Niyon of kiribo became vacant on February 13,2013 after the demise of Oba Fredrick Omosegbon of the ldumudoko ruling house.

The process of filling the vacant stool began in July, 2017 after approval was granted by the state government.

Presenting the new monarch with staff of office and instrument of appointment, the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredoku SAN, congratulated the new traditional ruler on his ascension to the throne of his ancestors

The Governor , who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, wished the Monarch wisdom and understanding, good health and many years of peaceful reign over his subjects.

He used the occasion to congratulate the sons and daughters of kiribo on the occasion which marks the beginning of a new dawn in kiribo.

He commended the all the stakeholder for their roles played in the selection of the new alakpata.

The Governor who advised the Oduyi not to see the new position without challenges but see it as position of a high responsibility in dealing with his subjects and the carrying out of his day -to – day activities.

He further appealed to him to employ the spirit of fairness and exercise restraint in the use of the power conferred on him.

He encouraged the people of kiribo both at home and in the
diaspora to give their maximum supports to Oduyi to achieve success in his reign.

In an interview with journalists, the Deputy Governor, Hon Ajayi, thanked the state governor for coming down to the town for the presentation of staff of office to the monarch.

Ajayi, an indigene of the community urged the people of the kiribo to cooperate with the new monarch for successful reign on the throne of his ancestors, enjoining them to maintain the peaceful coexistence enjoy in the town.

On her part, the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Deaconess Lola Fagbemi, affirmed that the stool of Kiribo has been vacant for 4 years,adding that the new monarch passed through due process which had the approval of the state government.

Delivering his speech, the Caretaker Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Mr. Bekewei Olowu, said the epoch making event attended by the indigenes of the land both home and in diaspora showed that the choice of the Oba as the choice of people of the land.

Olowu noted that the coronation ceremony portends a new
chapter for peace and development for the ancient community.

The caretaker chairman who was proud of the peaceful
disposition of the youths of the local government commended them for their approaches to issues.

He prayed that the ascension of the new traditional ruler to the throne will sustain and strengthen the existing peace in the community.

He commended the state government for creating enabling
environment for the peaceful ascension to the throne.

While congratulating the people of the community on the epoch event, Olowu said the reign of the new Alakpaka of Kiribo will witness peace and move kiribo and Ese-Odo local government togreater height.

In his acceptance speech, the new monarch, Oba Oduyi,
appreciated Governor Akeredolu for his wealth of experience in ensuring the completion of his installation.

He also commended the Deputy Governor and the state
government functionaries for their contributions towards the successful installation.
